Really this sounds along time???, ive got 70k on my 1.6 tdi 10plate,not changed the belt yet....Anyone back this time/mileage up?

says so in the service schedule, I posted about this a few months ago and was assured that it is correct, think its suicidal personally.

I recently contacted Seat on this regarding clarification and also asked the question why other VAG engines have longer/shorter schedules - they advised me for a 2010 FR 2.0 TDi CR that it is due every 4 years.

However 2 days later I was then contacted by Seat and they apologized and said that the revised recommendation is now 5 years.

It is no wonder there is so much variation as even the manufacturers are changing the goal posts!

I've had mine done at 4yr but only 26k on the clock. The garage thought I was mental he took off the belt and pump and the belt was so new still you could still see the printed writing on it as if it was brand new. He said he was just about to ring me as he didn't want to rip me off but read it's 4yrs to change it. This wasn't seat by the way
