Hi all,

Can someone tell me how much roughly Seat charge to fit new CAM Belt, parts & lab included?

My Leon is almost 5year old and is 3.5k short of 60k miles so wanting to get the belt done in the next few months.

Cheers guys n gals :p:p:p:p:p

I'm needing mine done next year but i seen a thread on here a few months ago saying it needed done at 40,000 miles so i checked with the dealer and they told me it was 60,000. Anyway back to your question, while i was talking to them i asked how much it would be and they said around the 250 mark. I think my water pump went yesterday and its getting done under warranty and while the garage has the engine stripped i'm getting them to fit a new belt and tensioner and it will only cost me for the parts.:funk:

Make sure you change the waterpump at the same time, even if its not at fault, the metal impeller waterpump can be had for 30 quid, the plastic ones are prone to failure,

not sure on seats costs but the full kit of belt - pump - tensioners etc can be had for £50-70, 4 hours labour fitting too, DIY it can be done in 4-6 hours being methodical,

Phoned Seat today to price cam belt kit and its 73 + vat. It includes - belt, tensioner and roller. My mate checked the timing belt book today and the time given to fit the belt is 2 1/2 hours.

The parts for my cam belt cost me £193 in the end.

I opted for:

1 x 17890 Thermostat = £6.95
1 x 50005131-1 Water Pump = £29.95
1 x VS4808 Tool Set = £6.95
1 x 6PKK1195 Ribbed Belt = £11.95
1 x 06A198119B Cambelt Kit = £62.95
1 x 22346 Tensioner Damper = £39.75
1 x G012A8GM1 G12++ Coolant = £6.65
1 x 17966 O-Ring Seal = £0.95

Prices are plus Vat.
I didnt fit the thermostat or O ring seal, looked awkward to get at thermostat and I was only going to change it as a preventative measure.
