What's the official cambelt change interval for my 2016 1.2tsi engine? I asked at the dealers (sales), they weren't sure.

Just for clarification with the 1.2tsi engine on a 2016 plate, I've just rung the Seat service dept up. It's 5 years or 40k, whichever comes first.
 
According to ERWIN, for Group A countries (i.e. GB/EU): No specified replacement period (but to be regularly inspected), 240,000 km (150,000 miles), then every 30,000 km (18,750 miles).

Thanks for info. I'll stick with 5 years, as I have the extended Seat warranty, that's what the dealer has advised.
 
Long thread regarding this a short time ago. Email reply I sent enquiring about this I got back from Seat customer service UK confirmed it is 5 years with no mileage stipulation.
So why the general confusion? Dealer had said to me 5 years or 40k, whichever came first. By that time my car will be out of the extended warranty & I'll have a trusted independent change it, along with the water pump.
 
Pretty sure your water pump is nothing to do with the cambelt, it's on the other side of the engine.

My car is now 6 years and 84000 miles old, so I think maybe time for the timing belt to be changed ?

Is the 1.4 tsi engine ( 2013 1.4 FR mk3 ) the one with water pump on a separate belt ?

Garage wants me to change both at the same time . .

If it is the 140 ps engine it is my understanding the water pump is driven from the exhaust I checked when I had my cambelt changed in March and this was the case on I believe this specific engine.

As others have said, the 1.2TSI and 1.4TSI are Model EA211 engines with the water pump driven by the exhaust camshaft at the opposite end of the engine.
