Camber adjustment on a MK3 cupra

Maybe the camber can not be adjusted on the MK3 but if I remember correctly, the two clamping bolts at the hub/strut joining point, are called camber adjusting bolts on my ETOS parts catalogue. Dropping the suspension a lot might mean they run out of adjustment range though. In short, as standard, as they left the factory, the MK3 Ibiza was designed with slight camber adjustment built in - they would always need this to take into consideration manufacturing tolerances etc. With a correctly set up standard car just try gently nudging a kerb and you will find how easy it is to change the camber due to movement at this hub/strut joining point - -VE to +VE camber in one easy move - PLEASE DON'T TRY THIS THOUGH as its not good to have +VE camber, especially on one side!
The H&R camber adjusting bolts will probably be larger diameter bolts machined down to the correct diameter at some points and excentricly to the smaller size at the other point - to extend the adjustment range - no real magic there.
Adjustable top mounts are really only meant for track use and quite expensive, they allow the strut top to move for/aft and right/left a bit - which gives the same effect as moving the bottom of the strut around.
Having one side "okay" and the other "positive" sounds like either someone was not trying to get things right or something else is wrong, even if the springs were both dropped equally I'd expect both sides to be nearly okay or both sides out by a similar ammount.

camber is easy to change on the mk3.
its done with the bolts used to hold the suspension shock on to the hub, any good garage will do it.

One side is more positive than the other. The car has been on ramps twice since it's original suspension change to change ball joints on the tracking rod and ARB.. nothing is bent or loose.
I just rang ProTyre in Warwickshire and was informed pretty fast that " you can't adjust front camber on a mk3 seat "

as soon as you modify anything to do with the suspension / control of the front wheels, the cars will need a full re allignment / tracking. this includes fitting front strut braces.
phone your pro-tyre back and tell them to get their arse in gear and that they can do front camber adjustment on the mk3 ibiza. if in doubt get them to phone the fareham branch on 01329 220743 and speak to some one there!
protyre fareham did mine and i cant fault them one bit, as i got my calculations wrong on the camber (-1.0 degrees) and i wanted -0.4 so i took it back in and they did it free of charge.
phil. im honestly shocked your only running -0.2 camber on your fronts. i thought you would be running more to give you better grip in the corners.
Yes, if you had read the rest of my posting you would have seen that I know that it can be done - had to force Seat to sort out my daughter's secondhand MK3 Ibiza 1.4 after they also said that "there is no camber adjustment on the MK3" - that was when I dicovered that VAG call these clamping bolts "camber adjustment bolts" - well on ETOS that is what they are called.
I was merely sort off quoting what people are being told by garages - then saying what I knew to be true - if that makes sense to you!
1.5' negative and nigh on dead ahead tracking has worked very well for me on road tyres when i used to run on the road.

Id have laughed at him horribly mate. I ALWAYS took mine to my local ProTyre and had no problem with them sorting out the cambers, they never even questioned not being able to do them
You saying that you HAVE to fit front strut braces or that you saying that you might as well?
no im saying...

so if you install a frotn brace you will need to get your tracking redone as i can garentee the top mounts would have moved causing your tracking to go out.

They will be bolted back in the same place so yeh you are right the top mounts move, but move back again to where they were before...
