Can someone explain the windscreen sensors please?

My Current FR 150 has the sensor for the wipers but the Cupra I'm picking up on Monday has a larger sensor above it as well, can anyone shed light on this please?

not sure, should have mentioned that my FR has that too, this sensor looks larger possibly with mirrors either side of it.

High beam assist? I thought adaptive cruise had the camera black box looking thing in the bumper lower grille?

What you are describing is the lane assist and high beam assist camera.

The smaller sensor below it is the rain sensor for the wipers

The active cruise control uses a radar mounted in the lower front grill

Thanks Everyone, I wondered if it might have been lane assist. Dealers never seem to know what options are acutally fitted to their showroom models.

I knew the ACC was down the bottom ( which mine doesn't have unfortunately) but I'll be interested to give the lane assist a try.. Does that link in with the sign recognition as well, and if so is it any good?

Adaptive Cruise Control has a Radar Sensor in the front grille which detects when you are close to a car, or obstacle in front and will either brake the car or bring it to a full stop. It cannot be re-tro fitted unless you want to spend a lot of money. Not worth it, specify it when ordering the car. ACC has to communicate with the braking system and TCS. SEAT do not actually wire the loom to take this option on as a dealer option. Lane assist, and ACC, which I have on my CUPRA 290, is an option, under the options pack. Lane assist may be on your car, go to the car options and safety systems on the small screen on the dashboard. Lane assist is very weird, takes you from lanes, white lines, back to centre, when you start to drift.
