Hi, Im looking to get an Ibiza MK3 sometime in the near future, and would obviously love a cupra, but insurance, fuel and the cost of the car make the 1.6 sport 100bhp, or the 1.9tdi diesel 110bhp look more attractive. The only thing is Ive seen some of the sport models with the same body kit as the Cupra and some with the standard. Can you get the sport wih the Cupra kit or can you only do it aftermarket.

Great forum by the way.

Thanks
Tom

aftermarket, guy on here had a 1.9tdi ibiza with the full cupra kit and interior, seen it on autotrader about 6-8 months ago. you can source the parts 2nd hand from the for sale section on here but it might take you a while.

I spose its not a big job to chnage some bumpers and bolt on some sideskirts! I would be looking to buy one in june, july actually so maybe too lol.

How much should i be looking to pay for a 1.6 sport?

around 2500 with say 60-70k on the clock depending on mods etc... and good luck finding bumpers there rare as rocking horse poop, the sports come with cupra sideskirts though so you can just get them colour coded :)

£2500 for a 1.6 yeh right you can get cupras for less. Wouldnt pay more than £1500 for a 1.6.

As for a cupra kit, dont do it. IMO if it aint a cupra dont tart it up as you. You wouldnt tart your nan up to be a super model so dont do it to your 1.6 either

yeah i wouldnt either, hence why i paid less, but thats what they go for, i was only lettin him know mate, its the same with most cars though, the lower the engine size the more expensive they seem to be as not all people can isure bigger engined cars. look at 106 quicksilvers compared to gti's!

2500 for a 1.6 is ridiculous, like myki said you would be walking away from a deal like that with your pants around your ankles with a very red arse. ive seen some decent cupras for sale for 2500. i understand about the insurance but dont buy a sport, wait a couple of years (save some moneys) and buy the real deal :)

I have a 1.9 tdi sport with cupra interior and a cupra bodykit. I got the bodykit of here only need the front and rear bumpers but i got the headlights and grill aswell and a cupra backbox so the exhaust would fit the cut out. I paid around £150 for both bumpers and headlights, £50 for the exhaust all off here and £80 for the interior off ebay. Then got some nice mille miglia HT3's for £150 of a guy i know. Paid £150 to get bumpers and sideskirts sprayed so in total £580 (god i didnt realise it was that much!!!) and this is how she looks now:-

Well ive got a 106 at the moment, which is in the garage again, which is why I want to go for a new car, and so dont really want to wait for two long.

And for looks I would never put a 106 gti kit on my 1.1 but the cupra front bumper is much nicer than the sport!

Im 18 in may so I can insure a sport, plus there 100bhp and insurance group 7 whereas the cupra is insurance group 15!!!!

i was thinking maybe go for a sport, cupra front bumper, and polo gti interior!

i dont think the polo gti interior fits to be honest mate, not may interiors do, if you have a few searches about on the forum, or look in the readers rides section you'll get a few ideas from there mate :)

and if you look at these links you guys, you'll see what i mean with the prices:-

first one with 73k is £2395 - http://pistonheads.com/sales/937258.htm

and this one thats sold for £2000 with 60k - http://pistonheads.com/sales/960975.htm

ive seen one for £3000 with 48k aswell, they may not sell but thats what they are for sale for

Still, that aint a bad price.

I thought i read on this forum somewhere that the polo gti seats do fit straight in!

Not really sure on yellow thats the only thing! But black, red, silver, blue. they all look good!

JOSHPMC!!!!!! Do you want to sell those wheels?? Been looking forever for a set of 16s mate, seriously, I will buy and collect if you wanna sell. Get back to me please! Cheers.

if you are dead set on a sport or tdi i would go for tdi 110 mainly because the tdi is more tunable when you get bored of having a car thats all show no go! brand new front bumpers are always on ebay. also the polo gti seats will fit in if you mean the 6n2 shape, you would need to make a bracket to fit the bottom of the rear seats tho but a no somone who has made some.
