Im sure someone will jump in if i am wrong though

Im 90% sure though but i cant remember what module its in without looking

Hi

If it’s has the same MDF as the Leon then you can turn off lane change indicators by selecting the Settings page then “Lights and Vision” then un-ticking the box on the “Lane ch flash” tab.

No mk 4 Ibiza has this

He means the Ibiza doesnt have the MFD. There is an option in Vagcom to switch it off. Although I can;t imagine why you;d ever want to. Its a great feature
It confuses my learners. They go down the road indicating left and right trying to make them stop... looks like a Christmas tree driving along lol.

I don't like the 3 flashes anyway - they're not long enough to be useful for anything.

Most cars have it now, I love them, ideal for lane changing! I learnt in a Corsa that had them but I can understand what you mean about the left right left right :p

Should be able to change it from 0-something more

Needs VCDS/VAGCOM - changed it on a few cars, but can't remember if one was a Mk4

I know you said 3 flashes isn't enough, you can also change the amount of flashes in Vag Com to anywhere between 1 and 5. I changed mine to flash 4 times, as I didn't think 3 was enough for lane changing on the motorway.

If the indicators triple flashing confuses them then how the hell are they going to cope with using the pedals, steering wheel and mirrors at the same time?!

Awesome feature, perfect for lane changes.

As this is my auto car, I mainly teach people with dyslexia, dyspraxia, learning difficulties etc. The less things there is to confuse them, then the easier it is for them. It doesn't mean they can't drive, it just takes them a bit longer to get their head round it. Once they've got the hang of the pedals, steering etc, then if the 3 flashes thing was introduced they'd be able to cope with it fine as the 'driving' part is now natural for them. But at the beginning can be a bit confusing for them if, for example, they cancel their left indicator and manage to knock on the 3 clicks for the right.... they then will then press the stalk down and it'll indicate left for 3 clicks and so on..... que me saying "just leave it and it will stop!"

I don't think there's enough clicks for a lane change. Most people change lanes incorrectly, and I think the 3 clicks thing has a lot to do with it. Next time you're on the motorway, notice how people immediately start to move as they indicate. What's the point in indicating if you're already moving across? 5 clicks would be better - then you can click twice before moving.

Fair enough, I take it back :)
Whilst I agree on the 3 sometimes being too short, I hold them for longer in that case. I know it's not right, but most of the time the 2 clicks are before I start moving, and I'm practically in the lane by the 3rd click!
