Can't open the fuel cap?? Please help!

Hi there fellow Ibiza owners!


I have recently bought a W reg (2000) Seat Ibiza Cool 1.9 Diesel and have had no problems with it until now. I went to fill up with fuel and couldn't get the fuel cap off? The car is not central locking. I can open the petrol flap to get to the petrol cap and i put the key into the cap to unlock it but the cap just keeps turning without coming off.

Any help would be welcome

did you hold the cap still and turn the key , then try to undo it?

same thing but try both ways

should be able to turn key 90 degrees one way then back

i always struggel with the damn things too

You've not been the first person I know to have done this. As said hold it and turn to the left to unlock, and to the right to lock I think it is :fiddling with hands:

One of my pals actually went to the garage because he thought it was broken.
