I ordered my FR in white on Sat 17/3/06 and was told a 9 week average wait but I have seen on other threads people talking about week 12 build, week 13 build etc, what does that mean?

How can people be so specific about the status/delivery time of the manufacture and deliver date of their car?

I do hope it comes sooner than 9 weeks time but is there any other way to find out, or do I have to hassle my dealer and would he actually have the most up-to-date info.

I haven’t had to wait for a car to come from the factory before, so is all new to me.

Any info greatly appreciated.

Start at the first week of the year - that's build week 1 count each week and you'll end up at week 12 (this week).

Once your dealer places an order, the factory receive the order then schedule it in on their timetables (i.e. when they are building right hand cars in the colour you want.)

Once this is done, the factory knows what week they will build it on, and update the system - Your dealer will then know what week its being built on.

Once built it needs to go to the ferry port, loaded into a container and the container needs to be loaded onto a ship that's going to the UK, then at the other end it needs to be unloaded and shipped to the dealer.

It can take up to two weeks to load a ship and up to two weeks to unload it (due to the amount of containers a ship carries.)

So from when its built it can be upto 6 weeks before its ready, but usually around 4 weeks - just depends on ship times and how deep in the ship its stored.

I'd give it a couple of weeks to be processed and allocated, then ask him if he's got a build date for it yet. :)
