Hi,

I just got my Cupra remapped last Tuesday and the difference is great. However whilst at constant revs (3000rpm +/- 300rpm) in any gear above 4th it's as if the car is unsure whether it wants to go or not. I have a hose that's leaking and I'm wondering if that's the problem. It's going into the garage Tuesday to fix the hose.

Another issue is, sometimes when I start the car and drive off there is a significant loss of power and no sound from my turbo (with Forge spltr). The only way I can get round this is by turning the engine off and on again. Wondering whether this is connected with the hose issue.

Thanks in advance

I would say it's all connected to the hose issue, I assume by hose issue you are saying you have a boost leak? If so get that sorted and that will stop it going into limp mode

Thanks for the reply. Will I have to get the fault codes that show up cleared using vag com?

Leaking pipe is probably the issue, although the Forge splitr could well be part of the probelm. These engines need fully recirculating valves. Your fuel trims will be out due to the air that is "being lost". This could cause hesitation at certain revs.

Second issue sounds like the car is going into limp mode, so you will need the codes read as mentioned. The engine should always be warmed before you let the turbo spool up anyway, i never put my foot down until temp is above 90C and the oil is nice warm.

Ah ok cheers. So when I get my car back I'm best setting up the spltr valve for 100% recirc? Its set up for hybrid operation just now, mainly cause I like the sound :p

Yeah mate, set it for 100% recirc and see if it makes a difference. It will take a good 20-30 miles for the fuel trims to adjust though.

Poss coils or plugs too. Mine hesitated and went in limp mode and new coils and plugs resolved. Go for iridium heat range 8 for remapped car with correct gap.

Got it back today with the hose replaced. Other had a big gouge out of it haha. Everything's sorted now. Cheers for the reply's!!
