car locks itself

going back to basics
its just started doing this yesterday but I thought I'd caught the lock button, basically, I unlock the car and as soon as I start it the doors will lock themselves and will do so again around 5 seconds after pressing the unlock button on the door but after this they stay unlocked.

Can anyone help?

BTW, its not causing any running issues wit the immobilser or alarm

I know it will lock itself if you unlock it and then don't climb inside. Maybe something to do with this timing system?

There is the hi-jack option which will lock the doors as soon as you go over 10 mph or so, i activated mine via vag-com but its a bit odd for it to do it on its own??

he said the doors lock when he starts after 5 seconds ..

No, the doors first lock after turning the key to start the car so I unlock them with the door mounted unlock button only for it to lock itself again without moving off.

Also, I've just been out to the car and as I've shut the boot its locked itself again, is the locking on a sensor or anything?

some may say lala land....
my boot locks itself almost immediately after I shut it - always took this as normal. is that not correct?

starting to get confused now.

so your stood still &
unlock car with remote fob
get in
shut door
put key in ignition and ALL or some doors lock, pretty much straight away?
you press on the unlock button and they re-lock again straight away?

is that correct?

No rush this time though

I'd try disconnecting the battery for a while. See if that stops it. :)

I've known the modules get there knickers in a twist with similar problems.

Do you think this might fix my no longer working remote locking?

The key fob battery is fine... yet it slowly over time stopped working...First not unlocking, now not at all...
