Hey all.

MPG figures are still terrible. £110 this week for 400 miles.
Spoken to SEAT regarding this. Going to be swapping some sensors/senders this weekend. Fingers crossed.

Last night I noticed a "rubbery" rubbing/squeeking noise when driving slowly.. i.e. turning into a drive-way. Sounds like the wet-rubbery tyre squeek you get in multi-story carparks when parking.

Initial thoughts are that I could have a CV boot problem.. but I'm not sure. I don't her any knocking noises at low-speed and the problem is definitely more noticeable when turning full-lock left.

Any ideas? Poor old Leon seems to be a bit f00ked recently... :'(

CV joint wouldnt make your fuel that bad

only things i can think of like the other thread would be-;

lamda sensors
MAF
Fuel Leak
Fuel Pressure Prob
Compression probs?

Ah yes. I don't mean the CV boot/joint having an effect on my MPG. That's another problem entirely....

I'm just concerned about this new noise.

Romeo, I got that kind of return, once upon a time! But now :O

Yeh, I'm going to be replacing the temperature sender first. I did fuel-filter last weekend. No fuel leaks I can spot immediately and my fuel-lines look perfect.

I've isolated the issue to be either the temp. sender, as I say, the Lambdas (front and/or back) and the MAF. Sigh. £££.

Yeh. I've 32PSI all round and valve-caps that indicate pressure change of 2psi or more.

I checked them as soon as the noise started.

Did you ever find out what this noise was? Mine has started making the same noise, on full lock either way. I've recently had all my CV boots replaced so it can't be that. Must be steering related. Exactly like you say, like a wet rubbery tyre like squeak.

Hmm... well to be honest, the noise is still there. Once in a while it'll start up.. and then stop for weeks!

I've been told it could be the backing plates (suspension?). Although the garage that suggested it only has a few minutes to check because I mentioned it on the off-chance during a service.

I've been faffing about with a suspension supplier for the past 2 months after they sent me the wrong parts. I'm hoping fitting some coilovers will indirectly solve the weird noise problem.
