Took my car for a service the other day and told the guy about my excessive smoking after my re map
told him that i had a green cotton air filter and he suggested a standard one may sort it
so he fitted a standard one and guess what it is 100 percent better

can anyone shed any light on why?????

It may have been the service that has sweetened it up a little though? Besides its nothing to worry about, they all do it once mapped. It just means us petrol boys know when your booting it for the smoke signals from the rear!! :cartman::lol:

i doubt very much it wil be the filter. i had FR before my R, and im telling ya, the cars behind were driving through my smoke when i remapped it to 190bhp. it is really bad, and i hated it. be careful though with the remap on the diesel, my car did 18k miles and the clutch cudnt handle the torque it was pushing out, plus my turbo went bust so had to get a new one, i dont think the diesels like a remap, so just keep look out

cheers guys im convinced that different fuels make a difference..... ive only got a custom code so its not too harsh on the clutch.... shouldnt the turbo be able to handle the power???

you would think it would handle the power, but then again you are running more power through std parts for a 150bhp. mine was under warranty so blagged it to them, so all was good. lucky it was though!!!
