Hi all i have a slight problem with my Cupra and it is now stuck the other end of the island.

I drove to work this morning all fine no problems.

And when i left work i started it but only for a second as it died straight away and keeps doing it (strats then dies) things i have tried are swapped my keys in case my key un-coded itself, Disconnected the battery for 15mins then plugged it all back in again, Had a mate come down and plug it into computer and the only fault that came up was coolant temp sensor. If the coolant level is low will it stop it starting.

And for the past week when you turn the car on it beeps 3 times with a red flashing light but i was trying to find out what it was but as there is no Seat garage in Guernsey, Channel Islands i have to call England or Jersey which is a pain in the backside.

Can anyone else think of anything or has had this problem or anything similiar.

Cheers in advance

hi, the red coolant light and beeping means your coolant level is low, but wont stop you from starting your car.

You could of popped a boost pipe off?

is there a key symbol flashing on your dash clocks when you try and start the car?

Yes mate everytime it starts then dies straight away and if you lucky you can rev it once if you quick enough and i called a Skoda garage and they told me about trying my spare key and unplugging the battery but why dont this show up when plugged into computer

I had this same problem, and it didn;t show a code. When I started the orange light meaning key failure or something came up and would start and immediately die. I opened key gave it a clean and was fine since

Well how can i get around this as there aint a Seat garage in Guernsey as no one has the franchise but will the key just stop working like that and surley the key should come up as a fault and would a faulty coolant temp sensor stop the car starting

Cheers

key won't come up as a fault andno the coolant sensor won't stop it starting

might run a bit rough if it's jammed on cold/hot vice versa but not stop it

you mentioned a skoda dealer so they should be able to recode it using the 1551 diagnostic or 5051 or whatever it is now :)

check out rosstech though as there's a guide there to do it with vagcom
