Car will lock but not unlock?

Ok so my car will lock with the remote key fob but won't unlock, would this mean it needs to be synced again? If so how do i go about doing this, becuase in the manual it seems to be a bit confusing?

is it the original seat key fob system or an aftermarket one. if its a seat one does the light come on when you press the unlock button if not you may have a loose connection on the button which you will need someone good with electrics to have a look at for you. regarding the sync if the lock works the unlock should work aswell .

Yeah its the original seat key, no light is coming on.

if no light is coming on you will have a break in the circuit on your fob between the unlock button and its wiring to the battery/transmitter

It still unlocks fine and the light doesn't come on, would this still be the case?

i have this problem too. quoted 80 quid for new fob and setting it up to the car.

Well it turns out it was just the battery which i thought was strange as it would lock the car everytime but not unlock, why would it have just enough power to lock but not unlock?

When mine did this, it needed resyncing.

Put non-remote key in ignition and turn ignition on
close door
using the remote key, put into door lock
press and hold the lock button and manually lock then unlock the door
horn should beep/lights flash

synced.

If it doesn't work, repeat but pressing and holding the unlock button on the remote key.

We had a client with this exact same symptom this morning. Very common occurrence when the remote's battery fails and the led light not to illuminate. Then only enough power to lock the car and not enough to unlock it!

One remote battery later and viola !
