Popped the carpet out this afternoon to dry it out, door seals must be clapped, fitted the seats back in and I've ended up with an airbag light. I was as careful as I could and everything except the alarm button is temporarily plugged back in so I'm not sure what I've done. Is there anything that's especially easy to break under the seats there? Won't be able to get it plugged in for a couple of weeks is all and I can't find a phonep app that does airbags and stuff on the old cars so thought I'd have a tinker. Any pointers greatly appreciated.

Did you disconnect the battery before you unplugged and removed your seats???
If not then you will need to do a reset of the airbags using a scan tool or vcds.

I did actually think I better disconnect that at the start which I did! Planned ahead, not like me. It goes out when it fires up, has a think for a second, comes in. Think it needs the computer.

Yeah, vcds/code reader needed to find out the code. The wiring to the airbag modules under the seats is notorious for being very temperamental. It's possible the wiring plug has come out from the module, or the wiring itself has been damaged.
