Cast or Steel Wishbones?

Well I found out what the problem for my 'vibration' in the front end....turns out I need new bushes on the passenger side wishbone, so may aswell get them polybushed

Now i have no idea if ther are cast or steel though? Any quick way of telling from just the car details? 2001 AUQ 1.8T? Or am i going to need to jack it up and have a ganders for part numbers?

I think it's the back bushes too, where the wishbone connects to the subframe(??)

They'll be the steel I believe it was only the LCR's which have cast

I couldn't tell you about the rears because I've not needed to do mine but I worked out it's cheaper to just buy a new wishbone from Euro's as opposed to faffing about with changing them and besides polybush will be far firmer too

I got my wishbone / bushes from Euro's for 23 quid so couldn't complain too much

My wishbones look in good nick, could do with a coating of hammerite though! I've got to get a garage to do them as well since i havent got the tools to press them in! £20 labour a side.

I've already done my gearbox mount and feels nice, maybe a tiny bit of vibration at idle but it's hardly anything so why not powerflex i say

I heard having a vibrator in ya ads is an easier ride than and less vibration lol

I've heard people using the R32 bushes, they're harder wearing apparently....anyone?

I've heard of people using others from within the VW Range, I thought it was the TT but if the R32 ones will fit then I'd use them, you'll still have some level of comfort that way too

TT ones are stiffer, but I would recommend Polybushing them. I chose SuperPro, very happy with them.

Well I'm on a budget at the moment...the SFS Oversize Tip saw to that one lol.

I'm thinking this http://www.vwspares.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=801 that's the Audi TT Rear Bush not sure about the control arm bush (front) though, it looks different but should would it fit? http://www.vwspares.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=802 think it's got an aluminium housing with the standard OEM hasn't

I done this with Superpro bushes, very pleased with the result - no vibration at all

They're damn expensive though! How much for just the rear bushes alone?

Cupra R standard wishbone rear lower bushes are already uprated and the same as fitted to the Audi TT.

Thought the MK1 TT had steel wishbones rather than the cast ones on the LCR?
