I think you are meant to, but I didnt on my last service, but will do on my next oil change.

I will get one and change it then just to be safe. Might get some new spark plugs what should I go for ngk or a different make. Not sure what ones I need as I've seen some people saying about cold running plugs.

I need some spark plugs as well. Alot of posts i have come across recommend NGK Platinum 7's. That will be next on the shopping list, hopefully will look for some over the weekend.

now and again Asda do good deals on Edge 5/30 got mine there a few months back for £27.

Bought some ngk plugs from euro car parts it said they were for the Cupra 1.8 hope they are ok. As they ain't platinum or nothing like that . They are the ones with 3 prongs on them. Also got oil and filter to as I don't know when the last oil change was done before I bought it and the oil is looking very black.

The colder running plugs are BKR7EIX - also known as NGK 2667

But - They are only recommended for 1.8T's that are Stage 2+ modded.


You'll also probably find them cheapest on eBay - £26ish

Mine isn't stage 2 so I think these ones will be ok.

Got the wrong plugs just checked on eBay and the ones I got are for a Leon 1.8 non turbo. Damn it
