Round about December, january time im going to look at getting a cat back system for my car. I have a 2006 seat leon fr tdi.

Can anyone recommend a rough price and some good makes, along with any potential gains if any? ive been quoted £480 by a company in Ashford who make stainless steel custom exhausts. this includes, labour, vat and also choice of exhaust tips. Along with a lifetime guarantee. is this a good price or would I be better off buying a named brand exhaust system?

Thats well over the top cost

Custom should be about £200 ... A cat-back on a FR TDI will offer you no gains and hardly anymore noise

Its all about the downpipe on these

ok, thanks for the info. was going to get a catback done because my back box has seen better days. so would you advise just getting a replacement backbox and a downpipe then? ive had a dpf delete and a remap so im guessing a dpf delete downpipe would be best?? any ideas for best backboxes and downpipes?

sorry for all the questions, new to all this

cheers

jamie

if you have had the DPF delete done properly then it will be fine, because the DPF filter is removed your downpipe will produce more noise.

If i was you i would jsut have the backbox removed

Thanks for the info. how would I know if the dpf delete has been done properly? had mine done a year ago if that helps

Never heard of them most "remappers" just download software from the internet and flash it without knowing whats on it.

Very few "remappers" in this country actually write stuff .. i know of a few but very few

Recently i saw an example of a "remapper" who did a DPF delete on a car, he basically cut all the pipes going to the DPF and removed all of the diagnostics in the ECU so it would never show a fault

get it to a decent Rolling Road see what its putting out
