cd changer bust?!

Hey every1, i have the standard cd changer in the boot of my mk3 cupra, but it seems that none of my cd's will work?!this includes real cd/albums and copied. did a search on here but couldn't find anyone whos had this prob?cheaper to repair or buy new one? cheers for any suggestions

same happened to me a while back. cd's started skipping and within half an hour it wouldn't play anything at all.

i found a company who claim they can fix any vag cd changer for £85! no thanks, i just bought a complete 2nd hand changer for that price.

why dont you try a cd lens cleaner ? might be the laser lens that has dust on it.

have replaced it and use mp3 player with tape converter and now don't need it.

Mine plays up a fair bit, sometimes it just says 'Error' and won't play at all, and sometimes it just keeps cycling through all the CDs saying 'CD Error'. Doing the old taking the CDs out and putting them in again always fixes it, but does this mean mine's on the way out as well?
