CD Multi-changer for Seat Leon 1.6

I have recently bought a Leon 1.6 (which doesn't come with the CD changer in the glove box unlike the cupra) I was hoping that somebody could advise me on the following:

1) Will any manufacturers' 6 CD multichanger fit into the glove box ?

2) Will it be compatible with the standard SEAT head unit?

3) How easy (or hard) is it to fit? (should I attempt it if my knowledge of electrics is little more than changing a light bulb!)

Yes and no.

Yes becuase I know it will fit

and no becuase I was kind of looking at getting a new Alpine one as I plan to replace the head unit for an alpine one as well.

Freaky coincidence!

Matt1e,

Had a look at that www.connect2.co.uk site and the domain seems to have been registered by a company called 'Technocom plc', and hence has nothing to do with audio connectors.

But then I clicked on the link to technocom plc and it took me a website from the company I work for!!!!!!!! How freaky. Are you mystic meg?

I dont think the alpine is compatable.. Some alpine units use a form of the sony bus and therefore may work with the factory head unit.

I take it by point b in your question you meant getting another autochanger to work with a factory head unit?

Yes. but if its not Alpine its not the end of the world. My mate's friend has a 6 CD multichanger and headunit (both alpine) for sale for £200 - as that is the bargain of the year I really wanted to know if it would work.

Shouldn't be a probllem then just take out the leon stereo and slot in your alpine... www.autoleads.co.uk for the fitting kit. part no fks-474 this consists of a facia panel FP-18-00 a harness pc2-69-4 and an antenna adaptor PC5-52

jobs a goodun...

the antenna and harness adaptor are for the 12v amplified antenna....
