CD Multichanger problems

Got a 6 disk multichanger in a 1.8 leon Cupra on a 53 Plate and it now will not play any CD's

It loads them ok but then displays CD ERROR. It will then load the next disk and display then same message, then the next disk and it will keep going through all the disks with the same result

Sounds knackered to me - I know they can be pretty flakey.

Is your car still in Warrenty?

mine did the same. replacing it with an ipod soon fixed all of the problems

Ive had 3 new cd changers in the space of 12 months will be changing the whole lot soon....

mine does it sometimes, just take it out, shake and put back seems to work

Agree Jonesy, mine does the same. A good shake usually does the trick. I've also found changing the brand of recordable CD's does the trick!! Don't ask me why.

I had exactly the same problem today with the one in my Superb, its the same one as used in the Leon. Took it out and re inserted it and its fine.

dont even have to do that just press the disc selection button again, ie 1,2,3,4,5,6 it works for me

Yes I have this problem, just keep pressing the desired cd number, it works when it can be bothered, just got to press it a few times.

Think its a VAG autochanger my polo does it my mates octacvia does it. Sometimes turning the stereo off and on and sometimes the car off and on works for me pretty random though

Except.... Found out the mrs had managed to cover a cd in talkum powder. Which she then put in the changer!

I am sure you can work out the rest...

Must say though, it gave me a great excuse to upgrade to a Becker head unit with ipod interface
