Hi all,

I have a small problem with my CD player as it only wants to play the right side of the cars speakers, which as you can imagine is very annoying when playing songs which have different sound coming out of different sides.

It only does this when playing a CD, not on the tape or radio, so I expect it would be some wiring to do with my CD multichanger? Can anyone shed some light on where to check? Maybe behind the HU itself?

Thanks,

what changer is it?the sony add on one?have you checked the phono lead going into the back of it?i not pull out each phono one at a time first.ie unplug white has sound disappeared completely?if not plug back in.d/c red one, sound should disappear if white didnt.then you know which wire it is to the changer.

so if you d/c red and sound disappears altogether then you know white is at fault, follow the cable down the entire length of it checking for any snags, etc, check the connection to the changer is solid and intact, cable not corroded/broken etc.then check the same at the headunit end.you will have to remove the headunit to do this.check the same phono in the back of the unit.if you cant see any visual faults, grab another phono lead and plug it in to the headunit and changer to test it.if its the same then youll know its an issue with the internals of the changer
