I am sorry to bring this well worn subject up again but I am stumped. I have read all the threads in here I can find and attempted to do everything possible to sort this out but no luck.

So if anyone can help??? :)

1999 Cordoba SE Vario TDI mk 1.

When I purchased her last May CL worked then one day...nowt.

Checked fuse OK. Taken off pump when all doors locked and blown down tube...all door locks open.

There is 12 v going to pump which turns over when you reconnect it to supply.

Took car into local Seat dealers who charged me £50.00 to tell me that 'It might be something that we have to take the door cards off for!'...Yeh, thanks VERY much!

After much scouting round I got another pump from scrapyard which also turns over when connected but doesn't solve problem.

If it helps when I bought car there was an olde style key with no remote facility and Seat dealers tell me this is a replacement as 'All 1999 cordobas had remote locking'.

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLP!!!

If it's not working with the key then there must be some sort of switch in the lock which sends the signal to activate the pump maybe bust. The other thing is I think there's a control module somewhere but don't know where and finally might be worth checking the wiring from the doors to the chassis incase there's a broken wire. Not much help but some ideas anyway.

Many Thanks seatmann.

Seat main dealers also mentioned a 'control module' but couldn't tell me where!

Anyone know where this is?

Ta!

Does anyone know where this blighter is? I had a friend come round who works for the RAC and we went thu all the possibilities of why the CL not working....we decided it MUST be the control module.. We then checked all info they hold on their central car data base for VWs and Cordys and amazingly there is no info on where this is. We suspect somewhere on the back of the fuse box.....

i have a manual at home on the PC but cant look tonight but will have a look tomorrow for you.

Look for broken cables to the hatch and the doors. There is also a microswitch built in the locks that is rather cheap to replace. You can find how to:s if you google on "polo central locking" for example.

Her´s a link to the microswitch on ebay:

Search for Mikroschalter polo/golf in the german section, i wasnt allowed to post links by seatcupra.

Be sure to check if this is the one you have, you may also find it in some electronicshop where you live.

There is a howto in swedish but with pics at svenskalupo3lklubben, just search for:

"Byta microbrytaren i låskistan" in your searchengine, im not allowed to post the link direct.

But be sure to check the cables to, between the body and the doors and the hatch.

One way to get around it, might be to get a cheap remote central locking control system from ebay, and install it direct on the cables to the pump in the trunk. The locksystem is pneumatic so as you alredy tried, the pump will handle the lock/unlocking for you.
Just make sure that all the doors are unlocked when you start using it, because the alarm wont work anymore, but if the original system thinks the doors or are locked, and you open via the pump only, the alarm will set off when you open a door.
and if the remote stops working you can only open one door at the time with a key, so make sure the locks are in a good condition.
I installed it like that when my key remote stopped working and someone tried to open the car with a screwdriver so the lock on drivers side didnt work anymore.
It would have ended up in +200 pounds, instead it cost me 20 pounds with the remote system from ebay, and a used doorhandle and lock from the scrapyard as backup.

Hope my swenglings is readble, and it might helped you on the way...

Good luck anyway.
