Central locking probs

Hi all

I am having some problems with my central locking.

I am have checked the battery and that is fine. When I push the lock/unlock button on the key the red light flashes. I can open the doors and lock them by putting the key into the handle and this works. But it will not lock or unlock just from the key. I know some cars you can sometimes reset the key by putting it into the car and driving with it but this did not work.

Any ideas as it is really pissing me off!!!

i got the same problem or similar. After my battery went flat after going on holiday (due to tracker draining it) I had it jump started only to find out when i press unlock button on my fob it unlocks the drivers door but press unlock the second time and does nothing (so I have to press the unlock button on the drivers door to unlock the rest. When I press lock it locks all the doors but doesnt D-Lock when I press lock again . Ive tried VAG COM but cant seem to find anything in there relating to the locking/unlocking. I was told to disconnect the battery which I may try later on today.

a little update. I set all the doors and boot to be unlocked (manually) , Disconnected the (+) from the battery for exactly 30 minutes, reconnected it and this solved my problem. hope this helps

Well i dont know what i have now done but the light on my car key is now flashing and i do not know what that is ment to show me. i think i will try a new battery.

maybe the key is in some kind of "learning mode" this is a feature known on Fords especially mondeos as I had to reprogram my dads key. Try putting it to position 1 (press lock/unlock) and then try again on position 2. Dont get me wrong its just a guess as it works with most brands.

Only problem Ive got now is it says Radio Safe 2000 is now on lol So im guessing I need to get my radio code lol no idea what it is I always left the chip thing in there lol as who would want to steal a standard radio lol

I dont know about the key prob as mine has started working again, God knows what was wrong with it. The block i got my car from had a radio book which has the code in there. Have a look to see if yous dose.

Hi guys,

Sorry to bump this old thread, but I'm having the exact same problem now...

When I press the unlock button on my key, the hazard lights flash like usual, the interior light acts like normal and the boot unlocks, but the actual four car doors don't work at all - any suggestions, or should I just reconnect the battery?

Okay, just checked and a fuse had gone, d'oh - sorry guys
