Central Locking

Hi,

Just a quick question.

When my doors lock automatically when i'm driving, and i then stop and take the key out you have to pull the door handle twice on the passanger side door for the door to open. Only way I see this doesnt happen is if i click the central locking unlock button on the driver side door.

Just seems a bit of a hassle. Is this normal or is there a way around it??

Thank you

The only way around it is to connect vag-com to your car and disable auto-locking via the control module.

Thats about how it works :D

I think you may be able to change it through the VAG COM ?

I am sure someone knows on here. ;)

I tried it on mine with a mate`s vag-com... but we could`nt access the control module for some reason :(

Once you have it hooked up, this is what you do:

Turn on ignition and start VAG-COM
Select "Select control module" from the main menu
Select "46 - Central conv"
Click on "Adaption - 10"
Press "Up" next to channel number and watch for "Auto Lock" at the top.
When found Auto Lock, set "New Value" to '0' from '1' click "Test" then "Save"
Press "Up" next to channel number and watch for "Auto Unlock" at the top.
When found Auto Unlock, set "New Value" to '0' from '1' click "Test" then "Save"
Then click "Done, Go Back"
Then remove key from ignition and the process is complete.

ahh rite thanks,

About VAG COM am i right in thinking this is a cable that connects a laptop to your car and reads fault codes etc?

When i put it in google i saw a number of cheap cables, are these usless or is this something you can do yourself i.e buy a cable and download software???

thanks

My mate bought his software and leads from Ross-tech

I think it cost him about £300 :scary:

I`ve heard about knock-off cables and un-licensed software but can`t comment as I have never used or seen them.
