Centre Consol Conversion ipod/ashtray

Im thinking about swaping my leon lower consol (the part that houses the gearknob and handbreak) for a golf mk4 lower consol.

can the golf and leon lower consol's be swaped over?

Have you seen the Aux plug the Ibiza has? Rather neat and tidy and it means you can plug anything into it.

that ipod looks abit vulnerable, its to close to the gear stick

i would feed the ipod connector through the back of the centre consoul leaving it layed down

Where that ipod is located is completely impractical for anyone to get to, for example for switching tracks. Might be more sensible to get an ipod controller, that way you don't even need the ipod on show, you'll just have a little controller fitted to swap tracks.

Unless you want it as an ipod charger? In which case, tis a bit of overkill.

Sorry for being so critical, but I just don't see the reason for it. Maybe if you explain more it'll make more sense to me

get a headunit with full speed ipod adapter? Ive got one and run the wire through to the glove box and just leave my ipod in there and control it through the head unit..

Another alternative could be to fit a centre armrest and then wire the ipod into that, or you could just do it direct from the centre tray behind the handbrake?

You should remove them. and teach them the good music.

Nothing like a bit of iron maiden to get you started. I know its what i got to listen to down the M4

Even though i feel screwed paying 60 quid to go see them

seeing this i wouldnt mind one anyway just for an extra place to store my coins. I hate the normal one as i have to have the thing open to use my sat nav and it bugs the hell out of me.

i would of thought so because the original ashtray is just suspended under the middle consol
