Cetane Booster

Hello everyone,

Has anyone ever used a Cetane Booster mixed with a tank of Diesel?

I have used Wynn's Diesel Booster and noticed a significant improvement in acceleration and torque.

I would like to dyno my car like this......just to check if there ARE any gains

Any thoughts?

The Consumer magazine Which? has recently tested thee Cetane Boosters, including the Wynn's and Millers on and found no performance or economy difference. However as suggested in this thread http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=237031 they probably did not run several tanks of the stuff to make it work and the ECU to adapt to the new Cetane levels. However both of them are cheaper per tankful than Super Diesel.

Most people on here (including me) use Millers Diesel Power Sport 4, however it is being replaced by Millers Deisel Power Ecomax. Millers oils - ECOMAX. I don't know the availability of it in South Africa.

Thanks Jim H, I had a look at the millers oils website. Some decent gains if like you said, allow the ECU to adapt.

I use Millers Diesel Sport 4 also (now been replaced with Millers EcoMax).
It apparently takes a couple of hundred miles for you to feel the difference.

I would highly recommend it though. Apparently Which? did a review on it and said that it is not worth it..... quite how they came to that conclusion i do not know.

i normally use forte, however this has no cetane enhancing ingredients and fill up with asda's own fuel, this from here on out will be swapped with millers sport 4 and shell v-power due to constant problems with crappy asda fuel that sends my car mental due to the large amount of detergent used.

used the millers on my old Bora(110) and golf(100) which were both remapped and noticed that it increased the mpg slightly and decreased the smoke ouput..

havent used it in the toledo yet as i havent many mods so it probably isnt worthwile yet..
