Change quickly between devices?

I use Android Auto and my wife uses Apple CarPlay, there seems to be no rhyme or reason to which device the car chooses to connect to first. Is there a way to set a default so it automatically picks a device based on user?

Also is there an easier way to switch between devices rather than go into settings and manually connect to the other device?

I don't think so,I'm in the same situation.

We basically just go with whoever's phone is in the car first we use!

When I use the car on my own,it's obviously not an issue as the car has no choice but to use mine.
