As the title really, had some rainbox slx265's fitted the other day. The chap uses the existing speaker plastic ring mounts and inverted them rather then making mdf mounts.
Anyway, now the door leaks and after taking the skin off to inspect, the speaker magnet and underside of the cone was covered in water droplets.
Obviously thats concerning also, and this evening i'm going to be stung £50 for some Skinz speaker foam (kinda like dynamat) and water membrane which sits over the magnet and cone to allow sound out but resist water.
Is there a better (and cheaper way) of sorting this, and why now does the door leak?? The seals obviously haven't just 'gone', and the water seems localised to the area directly to the right of the speaker, in the middle of the sill only...
I have searched btw and found little on this subject of aftermarket speakers getting wet...
Any help is much appreciated. Hopefully i can save myself £50!
