I took off the brake fluid resivoir and forgot to put it back on,went for a 2 mile trip to my mums and question is would there now be air in the systym the brakes dont feel too bad.

There will be no air in the system from leaving the top off the reservoir.

Just make sure the fluid is at the correct level and screw top back on.

If any fluid is lost, pore warm water around spilt area and this should be enough to remove any excess spillage.

The cap is to prevent spilling and to stop rapid water absorbtion. Brake fluid is hydoscopic so in naturally absorbs water. This is why you need to change it at regular intervals, because the absorbed water will boil in and around the caliper area and this leads to reduced braking performance.

You will be fine if its just been left overnight
