Right, so i finally managed to get a set of Polo dials with a rev-counter fitted (after trying one set from an older Ibiza and a set from a Cordoba, both of which refused to work properly!) and now i'm looking to change the mileage so that it matches for when i sell it on.

How do i go about doing this (if i can do it at all)? Cheers

Cheers for that, i've just looked on that company's website and they want £60 to do an Ibiza odometer so I think i'll be leaving it for a while!

Strangely, though, Polo dials (which mine are) only cost £50 to do, anyone explain that one? Hehe

Presumably its not something that can be done with a VAGcom?

I think i might have heard it is possible to do it with vagcom but dont hold me to that, If its polo dials you send to them surly your only get charged £50 ;)

David.

Sorry to drag this post up from the depths again but does anyone know if the mileage can be adjusted with a VAG com?

Think I'm fairly firmly on the VAG-train now so it might be a worthwhile investment!

Cheers :funk:

if you're gonna 'clock' it then £50 to do it is cheap compared to what you hopefully will get with 'correct' mileage?
car might be bit old so may not apply but i know BM's store info not only in speedo, but in ECU & another device in car

Would possibly be true if I was going the other way but my Polo dials are on 67k when the car should be on about 90k.

I just want to have it done so the mileage is right on the next MOT etc.

Its easier to tell you where they dont store it to be honest.. theres anywhere between 3-8 control units have this infomation depending on spec.. but there is a way to do it.. illegally of course and once done it leave a DOT on the end of the mileage so we can tell :p

I'm not too worried about the dot at the end, It's all documented in the car's history since I've had it anyway. What's my cheapest bet do you reckon? eBay special as mentioned above?
