Chasis number - will it show what alloys I have?

My dealer scratched my alloy and are replacing it. They took my chasis number so they can order a new one.

Was this just for reference or do you think they will use it to find out what alloys my car has?

The reason I ask is that I have the 18s which were a dealer fit and not there from the factory.

I can just see me getting there to have the wheel swapped and it being the 17inch!

Thanks. :)

You'd think they'd know what size wheel it was. I'd say it's more for reference so it's on the system than for anything else.

Yeah, you'd hope they'd know, but nothing ever goes seems to plan!

But I agree. I might just ask them when they phone to say the wheel is in, but no bother chasing them now about it.

Thanks.
