check oil level light

check oil level light seems to come on now and again yet my oil level is half way up the checked area on the dip stick , i just did a diy oil change couple weeks ago.

could it be a dodgy sensor or something else 1.8 cjsa

Please take a photo of the dipstick so that you don't read it wrong. I don't mean this in a bad way, but it has happened many times.

oil looks good to me but i did notice some oil on the pipe from the pcv could this part be failing ?

I would be inclined to top up to full mark and see if it stops the oil light coming on.
