Leon Cupra 280. Check oil light has been coming on frequently recently but level is fine on the dipstick. No other symptoms. I’m used to the light as the car does burn oil and needs topping-up frequently. Faulty sensor? Easy to DIY replace it at home? Thanks.
Oil level sensor (number 6) just mounts in the base of the sump - so should be a simple job when you have drained the oil.
As long as there are no chassis cross members in the way?
On my last car (Octavia VRS) being an old git when I came to do an oil change I didn't realise the oil sump plug was a piece of plastic with a slot to turn it with a coin so after a bit of head scratching I undid the oil sensor and drained from there. Very easy to remove and refit, and right at the bottom of the sump lower than the sump plug
