Has anybody out there chipped either an Altea or NEW Leon 105bhp 1.9tdi......was wondering if the percentage increase in power (150bhp) was way too much for it...........I was thinking about doing it on my wifes car as Star Performance are having a sale in march £299 inc VAT

I fitted a Tuning box to my 105bhp Altea, it gave a 20-25% increase in power and torque.
It was fantastic, except for the clutch it would slip everytime if you floored the throttle in 4th at 2700 rpm. So i had to sell it. I think the engine will take it is just a lottery whether your clutch will, you may be unfortunate like me and have one of the minority of cars that can't take the pwoer increase.
I believe the 130bhp+ engines have a mouch more powerful clutch.

The clutch is a weak point on all diesel cars. Anyone wanting a remap on a diesel should seriously think about the fact they will needed an uprated clutch if they want to drive there cars hard.
