Hah coincidence :)

It's a blind spot mirror. I generally use it for parallel parking as my mirrors aren't electric and the view is crap. Plus my tyre profile is so low, my alloys are bloody easy to curb! Also helps with spotting cyclists and other nuisances...

Also not sure if anyone might knows...but....

I have the Golf Mk4 interior light (1 centre and 2 map lights), and my usual LED sidelights don't work with the unit..only a single old crappy one does.

Does anyone have any LEDs that work with the unit, and are bright with a 'wide beam', rather than those concentrated LEDs. Links would be appreciated :)

3 layers of AG HD wax are now on, after the Beeza spent 3 days in the garage being cleaned to within an inch of its life.

If I'm honest, I don't think much of the longevity of the wax beading/sheeting. I'm looking for something that will give a glassy/wet look and am considering Collinite 915 or FinishKare 1000p. Has anyone used either of these waxes?

You would have to go one better than me, i only did two layers of hd wax! Finished pics?

Not sure about the beading of the hd wax yet as its only been on a week and the weather has been good here. Washed the car yesterday and the water just skids off the paintwork when powerwashing. I think you have a detailing obsession lol!

Haha well, 2 nights in a row I spent 2-3 hours in the garage. My family think I'm obsessed... I even couldn't bare to get it out the garage today, so made my brother drive me to the shops to get food :p

I'll have to drive her to college tomorrow though, and get her all dirty :(

spent 5 hours yesterday cleaning her inside & out & parts of the engine bay...polished her with the electric polisher & today....DUST! [:@] all over the car..swear the polish attracts dust, green fly and just normal flys?!

still looks great though (from a distance) - but the facelifte front end makes it look awesome ;)

I've had a few close calls with the missus after spending hours upon hours detailing lmao

HD wax is good, gives a nice deep finish..i personally use Simoniz carnuba...old school and a pain in the arse to buff but it gives a nice glossy finish and beads like a dream!!

make sure it's waxed and keep your hose handy, a quick skoosh before you drive off and the pollen (dust) will come off with the water :)

as for the flys, i think they're just attracted to the sweet smells in polish/wax

I am tempted to buy FK1000P. AG HD is great, however don't think much of it's longevity.

It's a battle between Colli 915 and FK1000P for me. I really want a wet/glassy look, and HD doesn't really give that. Sure, it's shiny in good lighting, but I want that dripping wet look :)

Might give FK1000P a go soon. Apparently you get loaddsss for the price!

Meguiars Gold Class Carnauba Wax looks good... Pics in my RR on the last page.

You can compare it to AG HD wax too, as theres pictures of that on page 1 :)

i use that from time to time! do you find it holograms quite easily mick? gives a great bead!

Erm, not really mate. How long did you leave it to cure? I only left it about 15 mins.

Thats good to hear, I've still not seen it in action yet due to the nice weather! If I had my way, I'd never see it in action

Come on lads... you do all know that the gloss in the paintwork is really provided by the polish, the wax just sits on top, makes it look cleaner, easier to wash and allows it to bead water!

On my previous cars (and the 'rents Audi A6!) I've used Collinite 476S, it has lasted 7 or 8 months now (on the A6) without the need to re-wax. It has just started to break down in places, and the odd spot of tar is beginning to stick again, but after 7/8 months I can't complain!

Well, yes, polishing makes it shiny, but a good wax should give a wet/glassy look. HD wax doesn't really..

Will probably order some FK1000P tonight.. Perhaps even just the 'sample FK kit' from CYC.

IMO, I think you're possibly asking a bit too much of a wax, I don't know what your preferred choice of polish is, but for the ultimate wet look, I'd start looking there instead. Just my 2p though, up to you if you choose to spend it. ;)

3 weeks ago i did my car with AG SRP, then the week after that i did 1 layer Megs Cleaner wax and 2 layers HD wax and it was so shiney and glossy after that. Do you really think you can get a better finish on what you have already? If so, i imagine it would be very slight and nobody would notice imo

To be honest, the image on the last page exaggerates the shine due to the lighting. In normal light it's quite 'warm' gloss. Not glassy/wet.

On the plus side, I bought a 500W 240V halogen site light (as used in detailing) to use in my garage.

Got it for 99p on eBay :D
