Will hopefully get a quote this week for the cupra bush replacements.

Tempted by the qtechniq polish.. Will 100ml be enough for a couple of polishes?

I am quite disappointed by how quickly the AG HD Wax has stopped repelling water. I'm guessing using my pressure washer 2 times a week has stripped it? I think from now on, I'll put 2 layers of HD on, then snow foam and 2BM wash and only use the pressure washer with a light pressure..

Mine is going in on Thursday for the new bushes to be fitted, needs to be sooner rather than later as I think the bust bush has given up now.

Servicing her tomorrow :)

Using a pressure washer will have no effect whatsoever on the longevity of the wax mate.

What's your usual wash method? Snow foam followed by a wash with what shampoo?

I use Collinite 476S wax (most durable wax around) and then wash using 2BM and Autoglym Bodywork Shampoo, waxed the car months ago (probably 5-6 months now) and it still beads beautifully. I'm clearly not talking about the Ibiza though, haven't got round to waxing it yet!

I think the key is not to use shampoos that strip wax.

Hmmm... Well I actually swapped from my usual AG BW shampoo to Zymol shampoo... Perhaps I'll swap back for the next few washes to see how it goes.

My usual routine is just powerwash, 2BM wash, dry down. If it's not been done for 1-2 weeks, then snow foam first. Every 2-3 months a good waxing session.

I'm going to give it a wash and polish now. Will wax, and leave 2-3 hours before another layer then another one or two tomorrow.

The Gtechniq polish looks great but reallllyyyy expensive.

Okay gave it a nice big wash;

Snow foamed everything
Brite gel on alloys (bloody amazing stuff!)
Agitated the brite gel and used long alloy brush to do alloy inners
Rinsed the car with pressure washer
Autoglym Bodywork Shampoo with wash mitt
Door shuts and inner seals with old sponge
Rinses with PW
Dry down with drying towel (this towel is getting old and not absorbing so well...)
Last bits of water done with autoglym drying towel
Vacuumed inside and even between the seals of the rear lights (they hold a lot of water and eventually pour down the side of the car.... I have veryyy hard water so lots of water marks).

Used peanut butter on the door rubbing strips. Don't go thinking I'm crazy....there is method to this madness. The nut oil within the peanut butter actually removes excess wax and polish from the vinyl/plastic strips and leaves it with a nice semi-gloss finish, and scent of nuts ;)

All looking lovely :)

In the summer, if I get bored enough, I may invest in a DA polisher and Gtechniq P1 to get the Ibiza mirror-like :D

To do list;

Get Cupra bushes fitted (£160ish)
Silver front indicator bulbs (£10-15)
Tempted to get an alloy refurb in anthracite (£160)

Any other ideas guys n gals??

Well, the silver indicator bulbs are chrome plated, however shine orange. Will get rid of the 'fried egg' look some cars have.

You lucky bugger, it will handle like a go kart compared to the old knackered bits ;)

ah ha cant wait :) - my cleaning method is...

pressure wash the outside all over starting from the roof
tar remover on any black spots
hot water with two capfulls of autoglym shampoo
pressure washer shampoo off
use autoglym flexi-blade thing all over the car (AMAZING FOR GETTING RID OF WATER!)
autoglym super resin polish put on & polished with powered polisher ;)
autoglym glass cleaner (cleaned with newspaper as it works a treat!)
autoglym foaming tyre black stuff

all done :) - never waxed my bezza yet...how can i do it & is it worth it??

Wax goes on the same as polish and is definately worth it! , No point washing and polishing if you aren't going to wax! It basically just protects it all. HD wax is the best, gives t5he car a "wet look"!

Okay, I've just fitted my Mk4 Golf interior light (2 map lights and centre light). Very easy job, plug and play, direct swap. Thanks to Marksy for the idea :)

Sadly, the 501 W5W map lights didn't like my 4 or 8 SMD LED sidelights, however worked with a couple of weaker 1 or 2 diode LEDs and normal bulbs. Not insanely bright, however can't really tell in the daylight anyway. I'll put a couple of pictures up this evening.

For £12 it's a lovely little mod :D

Gave the Ibiza a wash, polish and wax yesterday. Used AG SRP for polish, then 2-3 layers of AG HD wax afterwards. Repels water extremely well; can now dry the car with water, pretty ironic :)

Sadly where ever I park outside my house, I get stuff from the trees land on the car... so after 12 hours I now have a green haze covering the shiny black paintwork :(
