I originally was at Domino's Pizza and looking for a new job and a new car, I really didn't want to get a new car til I changed job and my insurance ran out in May so it was a race against time. Luckily my friend recommended me to his boss at an Air ducting fabrication workshop and I went in, had fun, handed my notice in at Domino's and started this new job 2 weeks before my insurance ran out. The Cupra had been in my garage for 3 weeks and finally I could finally drive it!

Currently got a de-badged grill on the way. Stealth kinda look. And waiting for Seat to ring me back about a fascia adaptor that's hopefully the right colour. Getting some Autosol off eBay for a shiny exhaust tip. Then it's either something under the bonnet or some noisy speakers and JL audio slim line sub.

Congrats mate, should be proud you worked for it, looks lovely!

Sound system

Went to Sextons in Portsmouth, was originally going to get some VIBE Black air speakers but got recommended Hertz Components instead. 6inch mid-range, pair of tweeters and some cross overs and a lot of wire! Took me about 2/3 weeks to do.

Seat Leon speakers adaptors.. a lot of trimming and some draught excluder to help with vibration.

Speakers and adaptor trial run, nice snug fit so connected them.

Using the original grille, I cut out the mesh and painted the trim white. Goes well with the white speedo dials I think.

Placed the tweeters in the holes in the head rest, unique place for the speakers and seem to do a really nice surround sound effect. Only problem was trying to find a place to run the wire, ended it putting it scrunching it between the black plastic seat back and the plastic lip where the fabric starts.

Then the bit I was least looking forward to.. But it wasn't too bad, connecting the speakers up the Cross overs and then up to the Stereo. It's a hell of a lot of wire to put into that hole for the stereo, but some gentle punching and swearing if fitted.. just!

Now sitting on 30mm all round H&R Springs, just the look I was looking for..
Alloys, maybe spacers to come.. eventually!

Custom made Air filter kit in progress! Not very exciting, but seems to be my favourite thing for adding under the bonnet.

Thanks,

Ride is a little harsher, but springs are now a week in use so probably another week and they'll have settled in. But a little harsher comes from the roads being in poor condition :/

Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas,

Bought myself what seemed a decent Induction kit, Revo intake. Been looking into intakes for a while, seeing what people's opinions were on different kits. There were the usual top 3 or 4 which usually boils down to which one you like the look of most, other than that they probably perform the same.

Made myself a kit to start with thinking it would save a bit of money; spent about £180 on it. Performance wise it didn't seem to do much other than make the "Darth Vader sneezing in your glove box" Noise.

After couple months thought I'd give a decent, car model specific Intake a go...

Wasn't too bad to fit, the MAF to Turbo pipe was a little tricky and the front facing heat cover bracket didn't fit properly but it's still pretty sturdy and the MAF sensor plugged straight in.

Good looking kit I'd say. Verdict is.. impressed! Over the kit I had made, this Revo one is definitely noticeable from approx 2500/3000 rpm to about 6000 rpm. Don't think you need a DV either, it's a noisy kit, but that's what you get from an open cone filter. And with the help of a singe piece alloy pipe which slightly narrows at the MAF sensor and smooth silicone Turbo pipe connector it obviously helps with better air flow. Only down side to this kit is it's expensive.

Its pretty easy, just need to be careful of where you cut. I made sure that I didn't cut off the mounts to the engine block so it still sits on there sturdy and not to cut off the plastic threads where the screws screw into so the two halves of the cover still screw together. So mine has the side air pipe cut off and the top half of the air filter housing including MAF housing gone to allow the induction kit to run over the top, the bottom half acts as a heat shield.

Ok nice, could you take some more photos of the back and side at some point if possible as when I fit one I still want to keep the cover.Think it looks great with it and the Revo :D

I will indeed, hopefully tomorrow. Definitely looks better with the cover on.. even if you have to saw half of it off haha.

Awesome car mate! Hope you enjoy it, well deserved!

Thanks, loved it since day one.

Hopefully the pictures are okay haha. I'd use a normal saw for the long parts that need cutting as it'll be easier to cut in a straight line and a Coping saw for tricky parts as it can turn corners as well.

This is the top half of the OEM air filter housing cut out with the sides of the bottom half cut away as well to allow for the Intake piping.

Original side air pipe housing completely cut off to allow for new Intake pipe.

And on the bottom make sure you keep all the engine mounts to keep it steady when its put back on the engine and all 6 screw locations which is a tricky bit because I found they were in the way when I was cutting the top half of the air filter housing off.

These are the 3 screws I found that were in the way on my cutting line but although I've cut slice out of the screw mounts they still work.. these are the 3 closest the original filer housing.
