Nath, does the ring around the lighter socket shine red or orange on your modified one. I have got mine out today and it looks like it is orange.

i might have a go at this some time any1 have the part number for the mk3 one? do i need anything else? ill prob run mine from the light switch like the w8 light myself

as you can see the original one does not illuminate

a mk3 one deffo illuminates red, I take a pic

OK here are 2 pics of the mk3 lighter in my mk4, as you can see it illuminates red and matches

although like the original NON illuminated one it looks orange in the day light

lol must be another cost cut lol as even in the ash try it has the red filter in there for the red light to shine through
