My engine was covered in crap and getting right on my goat, so cracked out the fairy up liquid and t cut metal polish.

Spent about 20 minuntes on it because it was raining a bit, but im pleased with the result. It's a bitch to clean with some really tight spaces to get into with the old toothbrush

Also fitted the CAI i bought off of Karl W. Only main difference i have noticed is the noise. It's alot quiter in the car, dont hear the turbo spool up half as much but when i let off the accelerator the dump outside is a hell of a lot louder, bordering on atmospheric levels

It was i bit loud for me thats the reason i sold it. I also wanted to try a open cone filter so i fitted this huge k&n
RC-2530.jpg

i degreased it and then re oiled it before fitting it as it was a bit too oily for my liking and i know all the stories about maf failure( which I'm not totally convinced is caused by a k&n)
Ive now tried..
..standard airbox
..standard airbox and green panel filter
..modded airbox and green panel filter with 80mm cold air feed
..modded C.A.I (the one in the first post)
..green open cone filter
..and now the huge k&N
I will be sticking with the k&n as my car running so good now and feels so much quicker. The intake temps are also no problem as i have a cold air feed, big Laguna FMIC and water and methanol injection

the only one out of the different intakes Ive tried that i can honestly say has made a big improvement epically at higher rpm is the open cone filter.

All the rest made very small improvements if any at all

When fitted in normal position it sounded quite nice, got a nice induction note, a pleasent spool up noise and a nice little dump as well.

My old powertek is fitted to another members car now as he is pleased with it.

The wheel arch liner and cable ties keep the CAI nice and firm

Not keen in covering whole bay in steam, engines are too tempramental, bound to bugger a sensor or something
