Cleaning the wheel off brake, disc and things

As you can see, i have one wheel in a bit of a state. The cars not moved for a bit, and I think it's just random crap off the brake dust coupled with iron from the disc itself.

What would you recommend by way of process and products to get this cleaned out, and protected.

If you mean the hub(rusty bit), you can clean it with a wire brush and paint it

Thanks, any recommendations on what paint, finish to use ? Ideally, I would like to get back to OE look& feel
