hi all, when i pull away or slow down for speed bumps i often hear a clonking noise, sometimes happens when turning the wheels also. Sometimes its louder than others.

i am thinking maybe its the pads in the carriers but wondered if anyone else has had this problem to narrow it down a bit?

thanks in advance!

dont think its c.v joint. Only does it the once but near enough everytime i pull away or slow down. I guess its more like a loud click then a clonk

Is it definately on the outside? as the front seats, not sure on R though, have something that comes loose which causes a noise on bumps/braking etc... my front passenger seat has done it since I've owned the car, other than that I can't think of anything:confused:

I had a very similar thing and it turned out to be a worn drop link (link arm) which joins the ARB to the struts on an LCR.

You can probably check by turning the steering to full lock and you should be able to reach inside the wheel arch and check for any play in the drop links.

ah... good point, will have a look tomorrow, thanks for your input

My seat does this, I thought it was just me eating too many pie's

I had the gearbox mount come loose a while ago, it sit's under the airbox.
The brake pads in the Brembo's can move which will make a noise
