Id be a bit carefull greasing the platforms. All the grime and grit off the road will stick to the grease, then when the spring moves you will hane a lovely abrasive paste wearing away your soft alluminium platforms.

i see what your saying... but i disagree, as in if the grit sticks to the grease then so be it... the grease in between the platform will be fine, the grit will only be on the outside!
if what you saying was a major problem then most of the applications that is recommended on the can would not be applicable!
just my 2p worth!
