Clutch on floor - i have searched and need opinions on fix

Hey guys. Actually a mk2 toledo 1.8t but there is more chance of a response in the leon forum for the same car in effect.

Last night out of nowhere put the clutch to the floor and it didnt come back but engaged fully. Its. 1.8 20vt auq with 6 speed box.

Checked the plastic clip and its fine, no leakage anywhere and the fluid level does not seem to drop. If i pump the clutch out of gear i can get pressure into it but it then goes straight back to the floor soon as you let the clutch out in gear.

The fault also occured out of nowhere not over time (my leon cupra did same thing years ago but slowly developed)

No fluid leak from master cyl that i can see or any of the bleed nipples or pipes and no apparent fluid loss from resevoir

I am guessing slave cyl as its the weaker (and obviously sods law the most expensive)

Anyone any other ideas?

Also looking at a clutch kit if its the slave as the car has done 70k i suspect dual mass is ok - nothing about the way it drove before the fault suggests otherwise.

Am i right to be looking at LUK stuff as its oem spec?

Where is the best place to buy the parts?

Slave cylinder is cheap, but you still need box off to replace it so may aswell do clutch at same time if not been changed. I just replaced mine, same eng/gbox, took me a saturday to do the whole lot dmf included and I replaced with luk parts.

Yeah i saw the sticky hence all the checks i did.

Just wanted to check i hadnt missed something blindingly obvious.

Just freaked me out as it was an instant sudden fail like a seal just went in a big way.

Didnt want to throw £££'s at a slave and clutch if it was a split pipe or something (not that i am that lucky!!!) lol

Any ideas on good replacment clutch kits inc slave cyl and where is the best place to get them (best spelled C H E A P E S T) lol

Checked the pedal. Deffo operating the master cyl ok and all pedal assembly seems fine.

make sure its not a broken white clip behind the clutch pedal.......

Mine was the slave cylinder, same symptoms.

cheers. Got a mechanic mate to do the clutch for £120 plus parts which are on ebay at £149 delivered for an LUK

Can you fit a cupra r clutch or a tt 225? Lookin at a remap so would be nice to have something that can handle the extra power and similarly last a bit longer. Have to keep it sensible as its my daily driver so 200ish bhp map and i'll be leaving it at that.

No course not.

But as i say i have no reason to suspect dmf will not be ok. Plus i do mega high miles so just sat at 70 or less on the motorway cruising on work time so wont be under any massive strain anyway most of the time.

Haha on my old cupra i didnt change the clutch! I just did the slave cyl lol
