Survey Question = Post below whether you have a metal or plastic clutch pedal and year of your car.

Reason for Question = I had a new Clutch Master Cylinder + Uprated Pedal Assembly installed under warranty in December on my 2017 FR. My pedal is now plastic and I can't remember whether it was metal before 🫴

Note: All other pedals are metal

Clutch pedals are dependent on which gearbox you have.
My MQ350 = 5Q2721059HD = plastic!

You'll also have a plastic accelerator pedal.

Brake pedal is metal as it has the potential to see much more load in an emergency stop.

Does the vehicle age determine the type of gearbox or is it more vehicle model?

I had an uprated/new design clutch pedal assembly fitted when I had a new master cylinder fitted but can't remember what the pedal was made of before!

The engine determines the gearbox. The MQ350 is the gearbox fitted to the 2.0 diesels and Curpa's etc.. so the strongest manual box, so would have though if that version has a plastic clutch pedal the smaller boxes will certainly have a plastic pedal.

On 19.04.2016 there is a change - pre this date then my comments above apply, so 3 different clutch mechanisms depending on gearbox, master cylinder comes with the pedal assembly.
After this date they list the master cyl and pedal separately - and now with no gearbox differentiator - just LH and RH versions!
Your clutch pedal is 5Q2721321D

Either way, still a plastic clutch pedal.
As the master cylinder is available separately - don't know why they are also changed your pedal?

Thanks very useful information. They changed my pedal assembly saying there was a design flaw in the old and fitted an uprated version!
