was out driving earlier and when I come to the lights,, dipped my clutch and something snapped, clutch pedal stuck to floor,, I haven't had a proper look yet but from what I can see, something has broke which attach's the pedal to the master cylinder,, when looking I seen a white clip/ball socket thing and there was a piece of plastic and a small piece off metal in the foot well!!!

Im wondering if this is common with these cars,, and has anyone on here ever done it diy style,, it looks like im going to have to get the welder out for this piece of metal iv found

on top of this,, its my first cupra, got it in February and so far iv replaced,,
engine, clutch and flywheel, crank sensor, vss sensor, wishones, and fixed loads of other little problems,,

then the turbo went,, just got it back on the road 3 days ago, only done about 30 miles in it now this,,,

this is the worst car iv ever owned,, but I love the way it drives, but seriously im getting a bit pee'ed of with it now,, every time I get it sorted, something bloody else breaks on it[:@]

cheers ricky3, it will be getting done tomorrow
can this be welded in while still on the car or do I have to remove it?? how easy is it to remove,, im pretty handy with a spanner

took pedal off today and welded it back together,, got clutch working again,

however the pedal is right up in the air,, it goes way past the brake pedal, I am left over with a black plastic clip thingy!!! but cant figure out where it goes

anyone have a diagram or pictured parts list for the pedal assembly?

Yea, I used a mig aswell, easy enough to do,, trickiest part was this spring, I used a big flat head screw driver to compress it and pop it out,, much harder fitting it back in tho,,

Also the white clip has to stay on the master cylinder, then with the bolt out wriggle the clip in to the pedal, I put the white clip in the pedal first and then couldn't get the ball socket to pop in while the clip was in the pedal, had to take it all apart again an start again,,
