clutch problem

Right. Changed my clutch cable, welded up pedal box, but clutch seems to be getting stiffer every week. I think its probably the release bearing. Do you think I should just change the clutch & be done with it?

i would change the clutch on it mate happened to my seat ibiza it got stiffer as teh days went past next i change the clutch cable was ok for a week then went back to the same way but defo change your clutch

See mine wasnt like that. I changed the clutch then a few months later the clutch cable and it is still light and working so well.

i changed both on my old one changed the clutch cable 1st then the clutch worked fine after that now the new one iive got is making a bad whining noise dont know if its the clutch or the gear box thats away its only going into 1st 2nd and 3rd lol

clutch probs (again!)

Hi, this is my ongoing problem still! Clutch started getting stiff, so changed the cable, & welded up pedal box. Clutch got slightly better, but now got stiff again. The cable is now at its maximum adjustment, & the clutch now bites almost as soon as I release the pedal. Should I replace the clutch & be done? Also, how long do you reckon to do cambelt & tensioner. 1.4 APQ by the way.
