yeah true, what u think anout this dual mass thing, if i had to sort it myself?

With any luck it should be fine for now. I think the clutch would have to be serioulsy knackered before the DMF needs replacing, but i'm no mechanic, so best to seek advice from someone who knows more about them.
It won't be cheap if it needs doing outside of warranty.

nice 1, ok i`ll bell seat tomorrow & see what they have to say. i`ll reckon that i`m proper pi**ed off with the fact that its slipping so early on. i think 32k is not alot really. considering pretty much all of them miles have been clocked by my girlfriend going to work & back.

Mine slipped at 22k due to the remap. It was pretty tame as well lol

Pete @ Bell Auto's said he would reduce the torque for me, but I told him not to bother as I'd get a new clutch when it got bad. It got bad at about 26k, so I got the new clutch fitted, then went back to Pete & got a hugely more aggressive map lol

The stealers know about remaps & will tell you where to get off, even if you get it removed, it will be 50:50...............

If you want to remap a TDI, you need to budget in a new clutch..............

some may say lala land....
no remap on mine, but clutch has started slipping in 2nd gear sometimes.
mentioned to stealership at 50k service and they looked and noticed that springs had lost tension and will liase with seat uk about a help towards cost of replacement.
Moral, don't ask don't get, so no loss asking them to look and see what they say.

[edit]
had a call from dealers, and seat uk will pay 50% of parts only. which is better than nothing
Now to ask if they will fit a better quality (sachs) for me ;)
[/edit]

Do seat do a better clutch that would take a remap? so i can have all available torque or have remap de-tuned to take into account oem clutch? sorry, but i'm not fully understanding of full mechanisms for these things.

Phoned seat today to ask what they could do about it, the guy i spoke to seemed clued up! He mentioned hes just done another leon clutch what had only coverered 21k, that was wear & tear, no warranty. He said bring it in & we`ll strip the box down & if there is a fault then it`ll br replaced with no cost, but he said he was 95 % certain it`ll be a straight wear & tear. Quoted me £470 fitted, just the clutch & bearing. I`m gunna get my bro to do it has he`s a mechanic & will be cheaper although i`ll be getting a decent make replacment clutch, not your no frills stuff!

dont accept that from seat pal, i had my 05 fr tdi done yesterday with only 10k on the clock, slipping when any power was put on it, they accepted that this model clutch that the leon does have (think im8 being the code) has an inferior quality friction coating and replaced nmine with absolutely no charge to a sachs and fidel (spelling) one withing 5 hours. , my reg isw kv05 kva if you want to use that as a back up dude.

Does anyone know if this is the same clutch as on the Ibiza Cupra TDI?

302lb-ft or 410nm

I've been informed that anything over 300lb-ft is risking the clutch, so although mine is only slighly higher, its been ok so far.

torque must be similar to yours as the bhp is pretty much the same. Do u think sometimes this doesn`t feel has fast today! or is it just in our heads.

In this weather mine is shifting along nicely!
They all have days where they feel sluggish, but a quick "Italian tune" sorts them out.

The Dual Mass Flywheel (DMF) is there to prevent or reduce vibration from the clutch so it doesn't disintergrate under load.
If your clutch is slipping you have 4 options.
1) Ignore it and hope it will go away (not something i'd do)
2) Remove the map and drive it as standard
3) Take it to the dealers and hope they don't detect the map and replace the Clutch under warranty (if you have warranty left?)
4) Get some cash together and buy an uprated clutch

What ever happens, you need to do something (but not number 1)
Slid advise and thinking there. I would go for number 4!
