today coming home from work i puty my foot down out of a junction and the car wheel spun up to the red line i changed into secong and it still spun to red line so put it in third i then noticed the revs go up again but no wheel spin. i then played it safe and put it in fith at around 40 mph. engine revs where about 1800 then put foot down as i was coming into a 60 mph zone but it just reved out. was a bit of a bad smell. i though ow no new clutch. tried to get it to do it aginn to be just sure, same thing 1800rpm in fith so full load but hasnt done it again. is it possible that it just got stupidly hot with the wheel spin then after as cooled down and working fine? any help or experience of this will be helpful car is revo'd thats only performance mod

thats what i was sort of thinking as i might have got it a bit to hot going through two gears in wheeel spin engine would have put bit to much power out i a very short time and heated it up to much

The best way to tell is get into 4th and about 30mph plant your foot ;)

At about 4K the clutch will start slipping(if your clutch is knackered)

It's sounds like a one off to me :)

Yea mines started to slip like that too, (have done 35k though so maybe mine is on borrowed time!)

Does anyone know how much a SEAT replacement is compared to an uprated one. I've been wanting to revo my car ever since I bought it but have resisted the temptation because of clutch concerns. Maybe this is the right time to uprate the clutch and get the big power!
